Common Questions
The total fees include a non-refundable enrolment fee of $250.00, a course tuition fee of $34,550.00, a material fee of $300.00, and a late/re-assessment fee of $50 per unit. The course tuition fee is inclusive of learning resources, trainer and assessor support by phone and email, support services, and certificate and record of results issuance.
International students must have an IELTS score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, or through successful completion of an English Placement Test. Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can also be accepted, provided results are confirmed to be equivalent to IELTS 5.5.
The course is delivered face-to-face at two campuses: the Sydney Campus located at Level 1, 37 George Street, Parramatta, NSW 2150, and the Melbourne Campus located at L8, 1/168 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. The course runs for 52 weeks full time.
The qualification consists of a total of 34 units — 27 core units and 7 elective units. Core units cover areas such as using carpentry tools, installing flooring systems, constructing wall and ceiling frames, erecting roof trusses, WHS requirements, and workplace communication, among others. Elective units include topics such as framing and fitting wet area fixtures, constructing and installing bulkheads, and calculating costs of construction work.
Richmond School of Business provides a range of support services including Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) support at no additional cost, trainer/assessor support by telephone and email during business hours, a dedicated Student Support Services Department for administrative assistance, and student welfare support including access to an external qualified Student Welfare Counsellor (Mrs Judith Bowler), with RSB paying for the first consultation.
