The Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) is delivered in a blended mode across two campuses: Sydney Startup Hub, Level 7, 11–31 York Street, Sydney NSW 2000, and Melbourne CBD, Level 7, 118 Queen Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
The course runs for 104 weeks in total, comprising 88 study weeks and 16 weeks of holidays, spread across 4 study terms.
Applicants must have demonstrated an IELTS score of at least 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old), or demonstrate successful completion of at least General English at Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.
In addition to English language requirements, students must be at least 18 years of age on the date of course commencement, have successfully completed Australian Year 10 or equivalent (or be of mature age with adequate LLN skills), be a proficient user of advanced calculators, and have access to a working PC or laptop. It is also highly recommended that students have successfully completed 'CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry' prior to commencing, as it is a prerequisite to most units in the qualification.
Graduates of the Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) can pursue roles including Carpenter – Commercial, Carpenter – Formwork, and Carpenter – Residential, with the carpentry industry projected to expand by over 5% in the next five years.
