Students will learn construction fundamentals including site preparation, measurements, and safe work practices; how to safely operate carpentry tools and machinery; building wall frames, roof frames, and floor systems; selecting, measuring, cutting, and installing timber and other construction materials; reading technical drawings and building plans; and important safety standards and procedures required when working on construction sites.

Training includes practical workshop sessions, simulated construction projects, demonstrations, and workplace-based learning. Assessments focus on real carpentry tasks such as constructing wall and roof frames, measuring and cutting construction materials, installing structural components, reading and interpreting building plans, and following workplace safety procedures.
