The Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) at ACVET costs AU$9,900 and has a duration of 55 weeks. The course is delivered face-to-face at the World Trade Centre campus in Docklands, Victoria.
Students are expected to attend 16 hours of classroom learning per week, participate in 4 hours of online learning, and complete 8 hours of structured self-study weekly. In addition, approximately 5 additional hours of independent study each week are required, including preparing for assessments, conducting research, and reviewing course materials.
Assessments for this qualification may include written questions, practical projects, presentations, role-plays, and observations, ensuring you can demonstrate your skills in real-world carpentry scenarios. Assessments may also include workplace/simulated projects, case studies and scenarios, reports, and role plays/observations. All assessments are conducted in accordance with the Principles of Assessment (validity, reliability, flexibility, fairness) and the Rules of Evidence (authenticity, currency, sufficiency, validity).
You need to demonstrate English language competence equivalent to IELTS 6.0. This can be shown through English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL, or alternatively through: being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; completing at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO; or successful completion of an English Placement Test.
This course may open up a diverse range of career prospects in the Carpentry Industry. Graduates are equipped to pursue various roles including Carpenter, Shopfitter, Building Supervisor or Foreperson, Joiner, and Framing Carpenter.
