The course is delivered over 104 weeks in eight ten-week terms, with up to 22 weeks of holidays depending on the commencement date. Classes are scheduled for 20 hours per week, two days per week (Face To Face) plus 4 hours of scheduled study.
Yes, from term 3, students will participate in 200 hours of workplace experience (equivalent to 20 weeks) in the construction industry to ensure that skills are demonstrated in an industry context to industry standard. PCBT assessors will visit student worksites to observe skills in action, and PCBT supports students with industry placements to enhance skills and further employment opportunities, though students are expected to work with PCBT to organise their placements.
Students must demonstrate an Intermediate Level of English, which can be evidenced by an IELTS Test Score of 6.0 overall (General or Academic), or a TOEFL iBT Test Score of 60, or a PTE Academic Test Score of 51.6, or a Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) Test Score of 169, or an OET Pass Grade B, or by passing the PCBT English Language Placement test (for Level 1 & Level 2 countries only).
The total course fee is AU$25,000, comprising tuition fees of AU$23,000 and material fees of AU$2,000. These fees are payable in 8 installments over 2 years.
Assessment is competency based and is generally through questioning, projects, and practical demonstrations. All practical sessions are conducted in a fully equipped trade training centre where students have access to all relevant equipment. PCBT assessors will also visit student worksites during the 200-hour work placement to observe skills in action.
