In this course you will learn to construct timber wall and roof framing systems, install flooring systems and subfloor structures, install doors, windows, and associated hardware, erect and dismantle formwork for concrete structures, apply WHS requirements on construction sites, read and interpret construction plans and specifications, use and maintain carpentry tools and equipment safely, and complete external and internal finishing carpentry work.

Students receive hands-on practical training in simulated or real construction environments, including access to carpentry training workshops and work areas, framing, roofing, and finishing tools and equipment, scaffolding and height safety systems, construction materials and consumables, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and experienced trainers and learner support services.
Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for students with relevant industry experience and suitable evidence, and Credit Transfer is granted for equivalent units previously completed as part of other nationally recognised qualifications. Applications should be submitted prior to or at enrolment, and RPL assessments may incur additional fees.
Graduates may continue further study in CPC40120 – Certificate IV in Building and Construction, CPC50220 – Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), or other construction, supervision, or business-related qualifications. This qualification also supports pathways into licensed trade work, supervisory roles, and self-employment within the construction industry.
