Certificate III in Carpentry

The CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry is a trade qualification for carpenters working in residential and commercial settings, covering the setting out, manufacture, construction, assembly, installation and repair of products made from timber and non-timber materials. Students build a comprehensive trade skill set across framing and erecting wall, ceiling and roof structures, constructing pitched roofs and eaves, installing flooring, windows, doors, external stairs, exterior cladding and interior lining and panelling, reading and interpreting plans and specifications, and carrying out concreting, excavation and formwork for footings and slabs, alongside core units in workplace safety, measurement, cost calculation and working safely at height. The course is delivered at The Centre of Excellence's Melbourne and North Geelong campuses over 60 weeks including holidays, with new intakes accepted every month. International applicants must meet the English language requirements set by the Department of Home Affairs, with the college accepting IELTS Academic (6.0), TOEFL iBT (60-78) or PTE Academic (47-54) as evidence of proficiency. On graduating, students are equipped to work as qualified carpenters across residential and commercial construction sites, with pathways into specialised areas such as cabinetry and furniture making.
