The international tuition fee for the Certificate III in Carpentry is $17,640. In addition, there is a mandatory materials fee of $370 per course and a General Services Fee of $80 per semester. Students are also required to supply their own personal protective equipment and course materials, with a total cost estimated between $400 and $500.
The program is delivered over 38 weeks, 3 days per week, which excludes public holidays and the Victorian school term breaks, making it a full-time course of approximately 1 year.
Graduates can pursue a career as a Carpenter. The course also provides a pathway to further studies including the CPC40110 Certificate IV Building and Construction, CPC50308 Diploma of Building and Construction Management, CPC60108 Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying, and the 22477VIC Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural).
International students must have good passes at Year 12 or the overseas equivalent, English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, and must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards. The program combines classroom theory with simulated work environments and on-the-job training, with regular trainer support and workplace assessments to keep learning on track.
