This is a standard apprenticeship with a duration of 3 years. The mode of study is a combination of 'on the job' and 'off the job' training and assessment, with training delivered at a workplace and a trade training centre.
To achieve the CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry, the candidate must demonstrate competency in 34 units of competency, including 27 core units and 7 elective units.
To be eligible, you must be currently working in the building and construction industry and have been registered or intending to be registered in a NSW Carpentry Apprenticeship. You must be 15 years or more, no longer in secondary education (except registered home school students), living or working in NSW, and be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen. You must also hold a White Card before stepping on a construction site.
Assessment methods for this qualification include written questions, projects, observations, presentations, case studies, reports, practical activities, third party reports and logbooks, and on the job training assessment consistent with apprenticeship mode.
