The Certificate III in Carpentry has a total duration of 92 weeks for onshore (international) students. Classes are scheduled for 20 hours per week, including workshop work and practice, delivered across 4 academic terms of 10 weeks each, with 2-week breaks between terms and a 6-week holiday at the end of the year.
International students must achieve IELTS 6.0 or higher with a minimum score of 6.0 in each band, or an equivalent score of TOEFL (60) or above, PTE (50), or complete the Upper Intermediate or EAP (English Placement Test) provided by IOMT.
This is a trade qualification for carpenters in residential and commercial workplaces. Graduates can pursue occupational roles including Carpenter – Commercial, Carpenter – Formwork, and Carpenter – Residential. The qualification also serves as a pathway to advanced studies in the construction field.
IOMT's main campus is located at Suite 29, 4 Cardinia Rd, Officer VIC 3809, approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne CBD by train and 4 minutes walking from the Metro Station. A second campus is located at Tenancy 2, L-1, 154-160 Nicholson Street, Footscray 3011.
