The course is delivered over 104 weeks, including 72 weeks of training and assessment and 32 weeks of holidays.
Trinity Institute (Australia) provides training rooms, simulated building worksites with associated equipment and tools required for all units, personal protective and safety equipment such as a safety workshirt, eye protection, hearing protection and gloves as required for each unit, as well as a starter carpentry tool kit and toolbag. Students are expected to bring a laptop installed with Microsoft Office or similar, a scientific calculator or carpenter's calculator phone app, safety work boots, and protective workwear.
International students must have an IELTS academic score of 6.0 or equivalent (test must have been taken no more than 12 months ago). English language competence can also be demonstrated through being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, successful completion of at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course or above in an Australian education institution, or successful completion of an Oxford English language placement test with an overall score of not less than Level B2 (Upper Intermediate).
Students who complete this course may be able to seek employment within the building and construction industry in roles such as Carpenter or Carpenter and Joiner. Please note that licensing requirements may apply.
Yes. After achieving CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry, students may wish to continue their education in a range of qualifications in the building and construction industry. Students are provided with advice on employment and training options throughout the delivery of the program.
