Common Questions
After completing the CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry, graduates can pursue job roles including Carpenter – Commercial, Carpenter – Formwork, Carpenter – Residential, and Carpenter and Joiner.
The course has a total duration of 52 weeks, comprising 48 teaching weeks and 4 weeks of holidays.
Students must demonstrate English proficiency as guided by Macallan College's English Proficiency Policy and Procedures. This includes an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no individual section score less than 5.5, or a Pre-entry Oxford English online test result of no less than B2.2 with a minimum score of 71. All applicants from AL3 countries must sit an IELTS test.
After completing the Certificate III in Carpentry, students could enrol into the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) or the Certificate IV in Building and Construction. For other relevant qualifications, students can refer to www.training.gov.au.
The qualification requires a total of 34 units — 27 core units and 7 elective units. A Certificate is issued where all 34 units have been deemed competent, while a Statement of Attainment is issued when only some units are deemed competent and the course is not completed in full. Issuing of your Certificate and/or Statement of Attainment occurs within 30 days of your last unit being deemed competent, however this may be delayed if you have not provided your Unique Student Identifier (USI) or have any outstanding debt.
