Common Questions
To achieve the CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry, a total of 34 units must be completed, comprising 27 core units and 7 elective units.
Applicants must have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent. All applicants must also meet course-relevant Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) capabilities prior to commencement, which will be assessed through an LLND assessment if valid credentials cannot be provided.
Upon successful completion of the Certificate III in Carpentry, individuals may progress to the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Builder), the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), or other trade or building-related diplomas.
The course is delivered via a Blended Delivery Model. Classes are held at the Melbourne Campus – Level 11, 190 Queen Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, with workshop facilities at 235 Ingles Street, Port Melbourne 3207.
Assessment will generally commence in the session following delivery. As this is a competency-based program, assessment will continue throughout the course until competency is achieved or further training needs are identified and addressed. Assessment methods may include knowledge questions, research tasks, assessor observations, projects, and role plays.
