Common Questions
Apprentices receive tuition at ICAE's Rapid Creek campus and participate in practical assessments at their workplace. Training and assessment material is also available online 24/7, ensuring flexible access to learning resources.
The course duration is between 18 and 36 months, depending on the individual apprentice's progress and circumstances.
You should contact ICAE to see if you are eligible for state or federal funding, which may provide the course at no cost to you. If you are not eligible for government funding, the course is also offered on a fee-for-service basis.
Attending college on a regular basis ensures you receive personal support to help you keep up with the required theory and stay on track to achieve your qualification. ICAE teachers help you prepare for all assessment tasks, and if you require additional support you can always contact your teachers for assistance.
Graduates can pursue roles such as Commercial Cook or Commis Chef, with other job titles available depending on the size of the establishment. The qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
