Common Questions
The course is delivered over 40 tuition weeks plus term breaks, with classes rostered for 3 days per week plus a self-study component. Overseas students must be enrolled full-time, which requires a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
Yes, completing placement is compulsory for this course. Students are required to complete 240 hours of vocational placement to satisfy this component of the qualification.
Applicants must meet one of the following English proficiency requirements: IELTS 4.0–4.5, completion of CCEB Intermediate level, B1 Level of CEFR – Common European Framework, or having completed the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of an AQF Certificate IV or higher course in Australia in English while holding a student visa within the 2 years before applying.
A range of assessments are employed for this training program and the type of assessment is dependent on the nature of the unit of competency. Assessments include demonstrations, observations, projects, presentations, knowledge tests, reports and interviews.
On completion of the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, students may pursue the Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery at CCEB or other CRICOS registered training organisations.
