Common Questions
Students must be at least 18 years of age, be able to read and write English at a grade 10 level (an LLN assessment will be undertaken prior to training), and must hold either a Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) Driver Licence for at least one year prior to enrolling in the course.
The course fee is $5,500 (payable in equal monthly instalments), with an Administration fee of $200, a Material Fee of $400, and an RPL Fee of $550.
Students are required to provide PPE including long sleeve clothing (shirts and pants), a high visibility vest, riggers gloves, and safety boots. Where students have any difficulties obtaining any of the above PPE or other equipment, the RTO is to be contacted and may make suitable arrangements to obtain these items on their behalf for loan purposes, subject to size and student numbers.
After achieving the Certificate III in Driving Operations, students may undertake TLI31222 Certificate IV in Driving Operations or RII40613 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Operations.
The program is delivered over a period of thirty-six (36) weeks face to face at 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Delivery methods available include Classroom – Blended Learning method and RPL – Recognised Prior Learning.
