Common Questions
To successfully complete the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, students must complete 17 units comprising of 15 core units and two (2) elective units.
Yes, this course includes 480 hours of work-based training which will be completed over a period of 20 weeks. During work-based training, students will be able to practice their skills and knowledge in a workplace setting, which will assist students to be job-ready after successfully completing the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Students must undertake a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check prior to commencing their work placement. From the 1st July 2019, a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) replaced the current system where people can have either a national police check assessment done by an employer or a DHS screening.
Successful completion of the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will lay a foundation for successful students to progress into CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or a range of other Diploma qualifications.
International students must exhibit a strong command of the English language and undertake one of the following tests at the minimum scores: IELTS 5.0, TOEFL Internet-Based Test 37-50, PTE 40 or higher, CAE ESOL 154 or higher, OET minimum D Grade, Duolingo 80-90, CEFR/Oxford minimum B1, CELPIP General 5, LANGUAGECERT Academic 50, or Michigan English Test 44. Alternatively, evidence that English was the medium of instruction at the student's school for the last two years is accepted. If no proof is available, students will be required to take an English Placement Test administered by Skills Australia Institute (SAI).
