Common Questions
Students are required to complete 180 hours of work placement in an accredited childcare centre. This placement is embedded within the 52-week course duration (9 weeks of the 40 scheduled tuition weeks are dedicated to work placement). New Era Institute has agreements with workplaces to provide suitable placements for students, though students are also encouraged to look for their own childcare centres to complete their practical.
Before commencing work placement, students must possess a Police check, have a Working With Children Check (WWCC), have a reasonable level of fitness to complete manual and physically demanding tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time, and have an updated Vaccination Record.
Yes. Students can apply for Credit Transfer where there is an exact match of units of competency achieved through an accredited VET qualification at an approved registered training organisation (RTO). Students can also apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for existing skills and knowledge obtained through workplace training or experience. If RPL or credit transfer is approved, the student's Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) will be adjusted to reflect any reduction in the period of study, while the study load will remain at the scheduled 20 hours per week as per student visa requirements.
Upon successful completion of this course, students may choose to further their studies by enrolling in the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50125), which is also offered at New Era Institute's Windsor campus with a CRICOS code of 118617J and a duration of 52 weeks.
Students who do not complete the course may be issued a Statement of Attainment (SOA) reflecting the units they have successfully completed.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
