Common Questions
The course fee is $9,000.00. There is also a non-refundable Administration Fee of $350 to be paid with the deposit, and a Material Fee of $200 which covers provision of training and assessment including online resources and printing. Smart and Skilled funding is available for domestic students for this qualification — please enquire with EEVI.
All students are required to complete a minimum of 160 hours of work placement. EEVI will help the student to find a Work Placement Provider (WPP) prior to the scheduled commencement date of work placement. The student is also allowed to find a WPP; however, the WPP must be approved by EEVI and a Work Placement Agreement must be entered into. EEVI's Work Placement Coordinator will conduct a site visit at the WPP's workplace prior to signing the agreement. Work placement runs from Term 2 to Term 4.
Assessment is both formative and summative and a holistic approach has been applied where possible. Evidence is gathered through a combination of direct observations, problem solving through case studies, responses to multiple choice and short answer questions, self-assessments and third-party reports (if applicable). A skills workbook is also required to be completed whilst on work placement.
All learners who have completed all Units of Competency in this qualification will be issued with a Testamur and a record of results i.e., CHC30121 – Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care. Students completing assessment requirements for part of a qualification will be awarded a Statement of Attainment indicating which modules or units of competency they have successfully completed.
Students must demonstrate English language proficiency by one of the following: English is the student's first language; IELTS 5.5 with no sub band scores less than 5.0; successful completion of at least one year of full-time study in an English-speaking institution at an Australian AQF 2 level or above; completion of the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program at EEVI or at any ASQA/TEQSA Accredited Language Centre; or passing EEVI's Placement Test.
