Common Questions
Students are required to complete 160 hours of vocational placement to satisfy this component of the qualification. Placement is compulsory, and students can only commence work placement once they have successfully completed the Working with Children Check (Blue Card application). Any additional fees associated with the Blue Card are at the student's own cost.
Applicants must meet one of the following English proficiency requirements: IELTS 4.0–4.5; completion of CCEB Intermediate level; B1 Level of CEFR – Common European Framework; or in the 2 years before applying for the student visa, completion in Australia and in the English language of either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to an AQF qualification at Certificate IV or higher level while holding a student visa.
On completion of CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, students may pursue the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at CCEB or other CRICOS registered training organisations.
VET courses are delivered as 'blended delivery' combining interactive/face-to-face classes, guided research, class group activities, theory research tutorial, project work and research, and independent learning with academic support resources available. Assessments include demonstrations, observations, projects, presentations, knowledge tests, reports and interviews.
The course is delivered over 40 tuition weeks plus term breaks, with classes rostered for 3 days per week plus a self-study component. Overseas students are required to be enrolled full-time, which is a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
