About This Course

This nationally recognised qualification is the legal minimum requirement you need as a childcare worker. You will learn how to care for children and nurture their development from qualified early childhood educators with current skills, knowledge and strong links to industry. This Course is delivered through the blended learning experience of face-to-face which provides students with a range of skill and knowledge to work in the childcare industry.

Eligibility

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Age: Minimum age of 18 years or turning 18 years old prior to commencement of the course
Education: Year 12 Australian Senior High School Certificate, or equivalent (e.g. completion of Year 12 or High School in the students home country) with full academic results
English Language: Upper-Intermediate English (equivalent to 5.5 academic or general IELTS) and successful completion of college LLN Test
Identification: Photo ID and evidence of citizenship (international students must provide copy of passport)
Computer Skills & Equipment: Learners must have beginner/intermediate computing skills including use of Microsoft Office programmes, in addition to hardware requirements of a desktop or portable computer with keyboard, pointing device, speaker, web camera and microphone, and a broadband internet connection
Additional: Students must be eligible to hold a Blue Card (must not have a criminal record)
Industry Placement: Applicants must be able to make themselves available to undertake the industry placement (160 hours) that forms part of the training and assessment activity
Vaccination: Students should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to undertaking placement
Note: Students who are unable to meet the academic or English language criteria may in some cases be eligible to undertake the Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) test

How much does the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care cost?

The domestic fee for service is $5,000 and the international (student visa) fee is $9,500 for the 30-week course. Additional fees apply: an Enrolment Fee of $250 and a Material Fee of $500.

How many hours of industry placement are required for this course?

Students are required to complete 160 hours of industry placement as part of the training and assessment activity. Applicants must be able to make themselves available to undertake this placement, and students should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to doing so.

How often do intakes start and what campuses are available?

Intakes are available approximately every 8 weeks throughout the year. The course is offered at two campuses: the Brisbane Centre Campus at 316 Adelaide Street, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast Centre 2 Campus.

What are the English language requirements for this course?
