Entry Requirements

General Requirements

You must be at least 18 at course commencement.
Students must be able to complete 160 hours of work placement, as this is a requirement of the course.
Students must be able to attain a current Working with Children Check as it will be required for professional workplace experience.
You must hold a valid National Police Record Check. If you believe there would be a disclosable issue on your National Police Check, a confidential conversation will be required before enrolment to determine suitability for work with children.
All international students are required to undertake language, literacy and numeracy tests. Applicants must have Academic IELTS 6.0 with no band less than 5.0.
Students are required to bring a laptop to class.
Physical: must be able to stand, walk or move across spaces for prolonged periods (more than 30 minutes), lift/hold/assist infants and toddlers, squat/get down on the floor, provide basic cleaning duties, be physically capable of engaging with children for up to 7.5 hours per day, and sustain CPR for at least two (2) minutes on the floor.
Interpersonal: strong abilities in reading, writing and oral English language communication; ability to constructively give and receive critical feedback; ability to follow and provide verbal and written instructions; ability to interpret private information and maintain confidentiality; emotional flexibility and stability; ability to handle general stressors.
Cognitive: basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office, email, internet browsing; ability to read, interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
