Yes, the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121) is available as a Free TAFE course. Eligible students pay $0 in tuition fees, with a maximum annual amenities fee of $260, making the total payable $260 for the course.
You must complete 160 hours of work placement in a regulated children's education and care service in Australia, undertaken across the time you are enrolled in a regulated Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
After completing the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121), students may continue to study and enrol in the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50125) and then progress to a Bachelor of Education (Early Years and Primary) or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
The course is offered at two campuses: Epping, with intakes in February, April, and July; and Preston, with intakes in February and July.
Assessment for each competency is through a combination of on-the-job (practicum) and off-the-job tasks. Off-the-job assessment is a combination of class exercises, assignments, and practical demonstrations.
