This qualification focuses on children from birth to 5 years, preparing students to support the wellbeing, learning, and development of young children in regulated early childhood settings.
The qualification is delivered over 52 weeks, comprising 44 weeks of study and 8 weeks of term-break.
Students must have an IELTS score of 6 (no more than 2 years old), or demonstrate English language competence through being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, completing an English Placement Test, completing a foundation course or senior secondary certificate in Australia, or achieving a Pre-entry Oxford Placement Test result of no less than B2. Other tests such as PTE and TOEFL may also be accepted if equivalent to IELTS 6.
Graduates can work as Early Childhood Educators, Family Day Care Educators, Kindergarten Assistants, and Out of School Hours Care Educators, under supervision in childcare centers, kindergartens, and family day care environments.
This program is delivered in the classroom, providing face-to-face learning to develop practical skills in play-based learning, health and safety, routine management, and inclusive care.
