Common Questions
The qualification CHC30125 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care requires that students undertake at least 160 hours of Vocational placement/Fieldwork placement in a real workplace, as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
The total course fee is AUD 16,000, structured as AUD 4,000 per term across 4 terms. Additional fees include a Course Application Fee of AU$250.00, Accommodation Placement Fee of AU$200.00, and Airport Pick-up Fee of AU$200.00. Course materials fee is $600.
International students are required to attend a minimum of 20 hours per week of scheduled contact hours, comprising 16 hours of classroom-based face-to-face delivery per week and 4 hours of compulsory e-learning administered via the MyPCT portal per week. Classes are held on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:15 am to 5:45 pm (including a 30-minute lunch break).
Yes, students may apply for RPL or Credit Transfer (CT) at the time of enrolment or during orientation. The original or certified copy of relevant qualifications must be provided. A fee is payable for assessing RPL status or processing credit transfer. If credit is granted, international students may have their course and visa duration shortened.
Students must wear a complete, clean, laundered and ironed uniform at all times during practical class, including black or navy trousers, black or navy non-slip filled-in shoes (no heels), and an appropriate white or pastel-coloured short-sleeved shirt with a collar. Safety requirements include hair tied back, optimum personal hygiene, no jewellery on hands (except plain wedding bands), no chains, only stud earrings, trimmed fingernails with no nail polish, light make-up only, and no body/face piercing. A name tag must be worn at all times whilst on placement.
