This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children's education and care services in Australia. They support children's wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens. The delivery methods for this course include: Face-to-Face Classroom-Based Learning, Simulated Work Experience (in the Stanley College Crèche), and Work-Based Training. Located in Perth.

Academic: Completion of Australian Year 10 or equivalent. English Proficiency: Intermediate Level of English OR IELTS Test Score of 5.0 OR other recognised English Language tests such as: TOEFL iBT: 35-45, PTE Academic: 36, Cambridge English: 154, OET: D Grade, Duolingo English Test: 75-80, CEFR Levels / Oxford Test: B1 OR Completion of Australian qualifications, evidence of certificate III level or above. Course Prerequisite Requirements: No prerequisite entry requirements exist for this course. Additional documentation required before Work-Based Training: Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance (WA).

How long does the course take to complete?

There are two pathways: Option 1 (Standard Pathway) is 52 weeks including 12 weeks of holidays, with Work Based Training of 12 weeks @ 24 hours per week (total=288 hours). Option 2 (Intensive Pathway) is 30 weeks (this course includes no holidays), with Work Based Training of 5 weeks @38 hours per week (total=190 hours).

How much does the course cost?

For international students (Standard Pathway): $9,800 tuition fee + Materials Fee $680. For domestic students (Intensive Pathway): $2,800 tuition fee + Materials Fee $680. Easy payment plans are available.

What are the English language requirements to enrol?

Before commencement of Work-Based Training, students are required to provide: Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance (WA). All fees/charges associated with the additional documentation listed above are not included in course tuition fees and payment is the responsibility of the student.
