To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of at least 160 hours of work in a regulated children's education and care service in Australia. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours, and it is mandatory to complete these work placement hours to be eligible for attainment of the qualification.
Students must demonstrate an English level of IELTS 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5, or an equivalent qualification such as IBT 60, PTE 50, CAE 169, OET B, General English Advanced or equivalent, MOI Certificate, Duolingo 95, MET, LANGUAGECERT Academic, CELPIP General, or a Certificate IV or higher qualification with an Australian institution.
Assessment methods include direct observation of practical tasks, oral and written questioning, completion of workbooks, simulated workplace activities, interviews, and third-party reports. Specific assessment types include written questions or reports, practical activities or projects, case study analysis, observation during practical sessions, and supervised work placement.
According to the fee schedule, the tuition fee for CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is $7,000 AUD, with a material/placement fee of $1,000 AUD, for onshore students at the Parramatta, Windsor, and Perth campuses.
Yes, students who complete the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30125) may wish to continue their education into the CHC50125 – Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, which is also offered by Lead College.
