The course has a total duration of 78 weeks (including holidays). It is delivered over 40 contact weeks across 4 academic terms of 10 weeks each, with 2-week breaks between terms and a 6-week holiday at the end of the year.
International students must demonstrate an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher with a minimum score of 6.0 in each band, or an equivalent result such as TOEFL (60) or above, PTE (52), or an Upper Intermediate result on the EAP (English Placement Test) provided by IOMT.
Classes are scheduled for 20 hours per week, including workshop work and practice, combining both practical and theoretical components to cater for a wide variety of learning styles.
On successful completion of this qualification, students may progress to MEM40119 Certificate IV in Engineering. The qualification also prepares graduates for employment as an Engineering Tradesperson – Fabrication within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.
