About This Course

The Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business suits individuals establishing or running a business as a sole trader or contractor, as well as those supporting a new venture within a larger organisation. Students apply a broad range of competencies across varied contexts, using discretion, judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge, and may provide technical advice and support to a small team. Across its 10 units of competency (4 core, 6 elective), the course covers investigating business opportunities, developing and presenting business proposals, organising new-venture finances, addressing compliance requirements, coordinating recruitment and onboarding, promoting innovation in team environments, building business relationships, workplace safety, workplace communication, and organising personal work priorities. The course runs for 52 weeks and prepares graduates for roles such as New Business Operator, Sole Trader, or Independent Contractor. From here, students can progress to the BSB40320 Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business or another relevant Certificate IV qualification. It is delivered at WIA's Sydney and Brisbane campuses.

International students are also required to have an English ability at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
Students who wish to apply for VET courses directly without IELTS 6.0 or equivalent can package with ELICOS or complete the college EPT test

What are the English language requirements to enrol in the Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business?

Applicants must have a language proficiency level of Upper Intermediate, which includes an IELTS score of at least 5.5 (or equivalent).
