Yes. BIBA Academy's Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) is government accredited and Austudy approved, helping make the course more accessible for eligible students. Government funding may also be available to eligible applicants under Skills First.
No. BIBA Academy does not require students enrolled in Skills First-funded programs to undertake a practical placement as part of their course. All training and assessment are delivered in a simulated or real workplace environment within BIBA Academy's facilities. Where a course may include optional industry experience or work-based learning activities, this will be clearly communicated to students prior to enrolment and is not a mandatory requirement for course completion.
The course covers a broad range of hairdressing skills including salon reception and client care, basin services, colouring and chemical straightening, hair cutting and barbering techniques, braiding and hair-ups, styling and finishing, salon operations and time management, and building and retaining a client base.
Training takes place across BIBA Academy's Fitzroy campus (236 Johnston Street, Fitzroy) and Melbourne CBD campus (401 Swanston Street, Melbourne). New full-time students attend three days per week (Monday, Thursday and Friday), unless otherwise arranged. BIBA Academy accepts monthly enrolments.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
