Common Questions
You'll need to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Assessment (LLND). As this course is delivered as an apprenticeship or traineeship, you must also have a Contract of Training with an employer to enrol.
Fees vary depending on the units you enrol into. Domestic fees per semester are Concession $2,376 or Subsidised $3,861.
The course is delivered part-time over a nominal 42-month apprenticeship term in a blended format, at the Noarlunga and Whyalla campuses.
Graduates can progress into roles such as session stylist, salon manager, salon owner, product technician or representative for a product company, or work in the film and media industry.
The qualification comprises 21 core units and 7 elective units, covering haircutting, colouring and lightening, chemical straightening and relaxing, scalp and hair treatments, with electives in braiding, up-styling and beard and moustache design.
