Common Questions
The assessment methods for this course include a theory component and a mandatory practical placement component of 120 hours. You must complete all placement hours to achieve competency in the units and successfully complete the course.
After completing this qualification, you may progress to HLT37315 – Certificate III in Health Administration, or upskill by attaining HLT43021 – Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care, HLT47515 – Certificate IV in Operating Theatre Technical Support, or HLT54121 – Diploma of Nursing. Students can also enrol in the Operating Theatre Technician work Skill set.
ETEA utilises a range of assessment methods including question and answer/written assessment tasks, role play/practical demonstration and observation of skills, practical demonstration and observation of skills in a simulated environment, and practical demonstration and observation of skills in a workplace environment. Assessment will be either a Recognition of Prior Learning pathway or a Training and Assessment pathway.
Yes, you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), academic credit, and work experience towards this qualification. Evidence of skills and knowledge accumulated through work, volunteer roles, family commitments and various tasks undertaken in everyday life can be used to help you gain a qualification. Credit Transfer is also available.
For 2025, international student intake dates are January 6th, February 21st, April 14th, and June 6th. Please note that dates are subject to change due to holidays and availability, and ETEA can accommodate dates to suit students' needs if required.
