Common Questions
The course duration is 70 weeks for both domestic and international students. Please note that duration in weeks may vary depending upon the amount of contact days per week, and may also vary depending on the cohort and industry requirements.
No. For Western Australia and South Australia, this qualification can only be obtained if you are enrolled under an apprenticeship contract, and international students are not eligible for an apprenticeship. You are encouraged to contact ETEA for more information on 13 13 89 or +61 3 9450 0500.
International students must have a minimum IELTS score of 6, OR a minimum TOEFL score of 60, OR a minimum PTE Academic score of 52, OR a minimum Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score of 169, OR a minimum OET score of B for each component.
Further training pathways from this qualification include AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, AUR40820 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling, or other relevant qualifications. Credit may also be granted into this qualification from those who have completed AUR20520 Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology or AUR20720 Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation.
To be awarded this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in 36 units, consisting of 22 core units and 14 elective units. Please note that elective units may vary by state and are subject to change to meet client and industry requirements.
