Common Questions
The course is delivered through a blend of classroom study and hands-on, nursery-based training. Participants attend four sessions per week, which remain constant throughout the 52-week course, for a total of 20 hours per week.
Yes, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is possible for formal training, informal training, and past experience. Students will also be required to sit a range of practical and written assessments.
Students must have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through evidence of being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, completing at least 12 months of a Certificate III level course in an Australian RTO, or through other tests such as PTE and TOEFL, provided results are confirmed equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
Students must comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and wear minimum protective equipment, including protective footwear complying with AS2210 safety standards, neat casual clothing and a broad-brimmed hat, ear muffs or plugs, non-fogging safety glasses, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
The course is available at three campus locations: Level 3, 97 Creek St, Brisbane QLD 4000; 30 Minnie St, Cairns City QLD 4870; and Suite 4, Level 2/43 Gordon St, Coffs Harbour NSW 2450. All campuses are conveniently close to public transport and shops, and premises are available outside normal study hours for distance study.
