The course is delivered over 20 tuition weeks plus term breaks, with classes rostered for 3 days per week and a self-study component. Overseas students are required to maintain a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
Yes, completing placement is compulsory for this course. Students are required to complete 60 hours of vocational placement to satisfy this component of the qualification.
Applicants must meet one of the following English proficiency requirements: IELTS 4.0–4.5, completion of CCEB Intermediate level, B1 Level of CEFR (Common European Framework), or having completed the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of an AQF Certificate IV or higher qualification in Australia in English within the 2 years before applying for the student visa.
On completion of the Certificate III in Hospitality, students may pursue the Certificate IV in Hospitality and the Diploma of Hospitality Management at CCEB or other CRICOS registered training organisations.
A range of assessments are employed for this training program and the type of assessment is dependent on the nature of the unit of competency. Assessments include demonstrations, observations, projects, presentations, knowledge tests, reports and interviews.
