Common Questions
Students are required to complete 120 hours of industry placement. The placement is in an aged care facility organised by Educare College and takes place after the successful completion of classroom activities and prescribed assessments. Students are required to do their work placement shifts during times provided by the placement provider; shifts can vary and may include mornings (commencing at 6am), evenings (finishing at 11pm) and possibly some night shifts between Monday and Sunday.
The domestic full fee for this 32-week course is $4,833, and the international (student visa) fee is $6,600. In addition, there is an enrolment fee of $250 and a material fee of $500, applicable at both the Brisbane Centre and Gold Coast Centre 2 campuses.
The course is available at two campuses. At the Brisbane Centre Campus (316 Adelaide Street, Brisbane), classes run Monday 9:00am–1:00pm, Tuesday 9:00am–5:00pm, and Wednesday 9:00am–5:00pm. At the Gold Coast Centre 2 Campus, classes run Monday 9:00am–5:00pm, Wednesday 9:00am–5:00pm, and Friday 9:00am–1:00pm. Intakes are offered monthly at both campuses.
Applicants must demonstrate Upper-Intermediate English, equivalent to 5.5 academic or general IELTS, and must also successfully complete the college's Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) test. Students who are unable to meet the academic or English language criteria may in some cases be eligible to undertake the LLN test as an alternative pathway.
Prior to commencing Vocational Placement, students are required to organise and complete an Australian Federal Police Check. Students should also be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before undertaking placement. For students working within Queensland Health, a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment (Blue Card) and Hepatitis A & B immunisation are also required before commencing Clinical Placements. It is recommended that potential students begin Hepatitis vaccinations as soon as possible to ensure timely completion.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
