Common Questions
To achieve this qualification, students must complete at least 120 hours of work placement. Students will attend work placement at an aged care facility and with an NDIS Provider to complete the 120 hours in total.
For domestic and study abroad students, the online duration is 26 weeks. For international students studying face to face, the duration is 52 weeks, delivered at 20 hours per week including work placement, at the Adelaide campus.
Before commencing work placement, students must provide an Australian Police Check (no longer than 6 months from the time of enrolment), complete the NDIS Online module 'Worker Orientation Module: Quality, safety and You', obtain an NDIS Check, and provide evidence of flu vaccination, an updated vaccination record, and COVID vaccines.
After completion of this course, students may wish to undertake higher AQF level courses such as CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability or CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support.
To complete this qualification, students must complete all 15 units of competency, which comprise 9 core units and 6 elective units covering areas such as individual support, infection control, aged care, and disability support.
