Common Questions
It is a requirement of this qualification that the student must complete at least 120 hours of work placement in an approved aged care setting and complete the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. The work placement is scheduled at the end of the course, and Rhodes College will organise work placement for all students.
The Tuition Fee for the Certificate III in Individual Support is $12,000, and the Resource Material Fee is $499 for all prescribed resource materials. Please note that students are also required to organise and pay for their police check, first aid certificate etc. before commencing work based training, and certain aged care or community service providers may charge a fee for work placements, which typically ranges from $150 to $300.
After achieving this qualification, individuals could progress to CHC43015 – Certificate IV in Ageing Support or CHC52021 – Diploma of Community Services.
The College will use the following assessment methods during this course which includes and may not be limited to Questions, Assignments, Projects, Case Studies, Activities, Third Party Reports/Logbooks, Portfolio, Simulations, Work Placement, Role Plays, Observations, Tests and Written Assessments.
Intake dates are in February, March, May, June, July, August, October, November and December. The course is delivered at 118 and 123 Queen Street, Melbourne.
