The Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) at ACIS has a duration of 52 weeks.
Yes, to achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
International students must satisfy one of the following: a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent for direct entry; an IELTS score of 5.0 with an ELICOS course of up to 10 weeks; an IELTS score of 4.5 with an ELICOS course of up to 20 weeks; evidence of at least five years of study in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States; or successful completion of an Australian foundation course, senior secondary certificate, or a substantial part of a Certificate IV or higher qualification within two years of application. Results more than two years old are not acceptable.
Graduates of the Certificate III in Individual Support can go onto roles such as aged care worker, home and community care worker, disability support worker, NDIS worker, residential support worker, disability school support officer, and disability service officer. Note that ACIS does not make any job guarantee or advertise any specific employment outcome.
All learners are expected to bring a laptop with the latest operating system for self-study assignments and tasks. Students must also have access to MS Office applications such as Microsoft Word, an active email address for communication, and be contactable by phone (mobile or landline) and by mail. ACIS will provide access to computers/laptops with required resources during classroom hours.
