The course is delivered over a period of 52 weeks, equating to 36 weeks of delivery, 6 weeks of work placement, and 10 weeks of holidays.
To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of at least 120 hours of work in a regulated care facility in Australia, as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.
The course is delivered via blended delivery at 20 hours per week, comprising 14 hours face to face in the classroom plus 6 hours of online study.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or over, have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 11 or equivalent, and have an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or complete and pass the HIA English Test.
After achieving the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support, students may choose to undertake the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support or other Diploma qualifications.
