Common Questions
No, the School organises all placements through their partnered host facilities. Students do not organise their own placements. Requests and special considerations can be made to the placements team to be factored in for your placement locations and rostered times. Placements are full time only, and the placement duration is 120 to 160 hours.
Fee options vary by state and eligibility. In South Australia, subsidised fees are $495.00 AUD, with a concession rate of $247.50 AUD, and a FEE FREE option for First Nations students. In Western Australia, the course is Fee Free under the Jobs and Skills Subsidy (tuition fees are fully subsidised). The full course fee is $3,800, with a limited-time 2026 SA offer of $1,200 (includes free First Aid and WHS training). For international students, total course fees are $7,200.00 AUD.
There are three course stream options available: Aged Care, Disability, or the Dual Specialisation in Ageing & Disability. Each stream has tailored elective units to match your career goals. The Ageing & Disability stream includes units such as Work effectively in aged care and Work effectively in disability support, while the Aged Care and Disability streams each have their own specific elective units.
Yes, there are additional incidental costs students are personally responsible for. These may include a National Police Certificate (approx. $60.00), NDIS Workers Screening, Working with Children Check, immunisations/vaccination status report (approx. $20.00 to $80.00), HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (approx. $120.00, reduced cost for enrolled students), HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Tasks Safely (approx. $125.00 if timetabled workshop not completed), a replacement Student ID ($20.00), and additional uniform items ($45.00 each). Students also need access to a suitable IT device such as a laptop, notebook or tablet.
Assessments for the Certificate III in Individual Support include case studies, logbook and portfolios, practical skills assessments, quizzes and multiple-choice questions, role plays, third party observations, and written assignments.
