The course runs for 52 weeks, including 12 weeks of scheduled break, with 20 scheduled course contact hours each week.
Applicants must have an IELTS Test Score of 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old). Applicants with a score less than 6.0 may package their application with the required amount of English ELICOS study. Exemptions apply for students who are Foreign Affairs or Defence sponsored, have completed at least 5 years of study in English in specified countries, or have successfully passed the Ruby Institute English Placement Test or completed General English at Advanced level.
The tuition fee is $12,000, and the non-tuition fee is $1,250, bringing the estimated total course cost to $13,250. Students should contact Ruby Institute at +61 (3) 9069 2172 or admissions@ruby.vic.edu.au for the latest fee information.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. Students are required to obtain a valid police check prior to the commencement of placement at their own cost, and immunisations may also be required as advised by the workplace before placement commencement.
Graduates can progress to the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support, or the CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services. Ruby Institute also offers course packages that bundle the Certificate III in Individual Support with these higher-level qualifications.
