The course duration is 52 weeks (12 months), which includes a 40-week study period and 12 weeks of term break.
Applicants must have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall or equivalent, OR have completed a minimum of two (2) years of study at an AQF Level 4 or higher in Australia. For equivalency of various English Language proficiency testing and other forms of equivalency, please refer to the Student Handbook.
To achieve this qualification, 15 units of competency must be successfully completed — 9 core units and 6 elective units. The elective units are drawn from Group A (Ageing specialisation) and Group B (Disability specialisation), and completing all electives from both groups allows for the award of the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability).
Yes, to achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
