Common Questions
Students enrolled in this course must complete a mandatory work placement of 120 hours. Please note that students are required to source their own work placement.
The course is available at no cost for eligible students: Concession – $0.00 and Non-concession – $0.00. To be eligible for free training, you must have left school, have your primary place of residence in Western Australia, and meet specific visa or citizenship criteria. First Nations people, young people, people out of work or receiving income support, unpaid carers, people with disability, and women facing economic insecurity are particularly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
For work placement, students are required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance / Australian Federal Police Clearance Certificate (AFP) / NCC, a Working with Children Check, a current Vaccination/Immunization Certificate and Proof of Immunity, and an NDIS Clearance Check.
Candidates may progress to higher level qualifications within and/or across the community sector such as: CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability, CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services, HLT47321 Certificate IV in Health Administration, HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing, and HLT57715 Diploma of Practice Management.
Assessment methods include Knowledge Tasks (KT), Simulated Activity / Project Tasks (PT), Presentations / Role-plays, Work Placement Tasks, and Workplace Observation.
