Common Questions
Students must complete a minimum of 120 hours of mandatory work placement in an approved aged care setting in Australia. ACVET may assist in organising a suitable placement; however, students may also source their own. Workplace assessment may include trainer visits or virtual observations to support competency development.
This course is delivered through a blended learning model, combining online learning, face-to-face training sessions, and practical workplace experience. Training may be conducted at ACVET's training facilities, via virtual classrooms, and through structured self-paced study. Students will engage in a combination of theory and practical learning designed to reflect real workplace conditions in the Australian aged care sector.
Assessment methods may include written questions, projects, presentations, reports, practical demonstrations, and workplace observations. At the commencement of each unit, trainers and assessors will outline all assessment requirements, and students will have access to learning materials, digital resources, and learner support services.
The course fee is $2,499 and the duration is 20 to 25 weeks. Intakes are available in January, March, May, July, September, October, and November.
To submit your application you will need a scanned copy of your passport, a certified Academic Transcript and qualification from Year 12 or above (translated into English), and a resume if available. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
