The total fees for the 6-month course vary depending on eligibility. Fee Free TAFE places are available at $0, subsidised places cost $1,704, concession places cost $984, and the full fee is $4,296. Fee Free places are limited and eligibility criteria applies; if all Fee Free TAFE places are filled, you may be offered a subsidised place instead.
You will need to provide your own hardware costing approximately $300.00, including a 1TB SSD portable hard drive, webcam, and headset with microphone. You will also need access to a computer with a good internet connection. The recommended minimum specifications are an Intel i5 CPU (or equivalent AMD), 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. All software required to complete the course will be available to students at no additional cost.
This course offers a pathway to future study, including the Certificate IV in Information Technology (Systems Administration Support), (Networking), (Programming), (Web Development), and (Cyber Security), as well as the Diploma of Information Technology (System Administration Support & Cloud Engineering), (Advanced Networking & Cloud Engineering), (Advanced Programming), (Back End Web Development), and (Cyber Security).
Yes, the course is available in multiple study modes including Online (self-paced), Virtual Classroom (via Collaborate), and On Campus at Adelaide City. Both full time and part time options are available. Full time study is around 20 hours of class time a week with 15 to 20 hours of self directed study, while part time study time depends on the units selected.
To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 6 core units and 6 elective units, for a total of 12 units. The selection of elective units you will be enrolled into depends on the campus you attend and the qualification packaging rules. Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
