The course offers five streams: Generalist IT Support (skills to work as an ICT help desk operator), Foundation (broad focus across networking, programming, web design, cyber and cloud), Cyber Security Awareness (identifying security threats and maintaining security of digital devices), Cyber and Networking (networking and cyber knowledge for network administration and configuration), and Web Development (building and maintaining websites using social media tools and web technologies).
The course fees vary depending on eligibility: Fee-Free TAFE (government initiative) costs $0 for eligible students; Concession fee is $2,150; Subsidised fee is $3,265; Full fee is $6,625; TAFE at School Full Fee is $4,070; and International students pay $8,250.
The course runs for 6 months (4 terms). The next intake starts on 13 July 2026.
Yes, the course is available fully online (self-directed), on campus, and in a blended format (on campus with some online). For example, the Cyber Security Awareness stream is available as 100% online study, and some units will require you to record audio/video for various assessment tasks.
The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete all core units (6 units) and 6 elective units from a stream/location outlined on the unit list.
