Common Questions
To enrol, you must have completed a CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. You must also be a minimum of 18 years of age, have completed Year 10 or equivalent, and meet English proficiency requirements — either an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with no individual section below 5.5) or a Pre-entry Oxford English online test result of no less than B2.2 with a minimum score of 71.
The course duration is 14 weeks, delivered face to face through a combination of classroom sessions and practical workshop sessions.
The qualification requires 29 units of competency, comprising 18 core units and 11 elective units. A Certificate is issued where all 29 units have been deemed competent. A Statement of Attainment is issued when only some units are deemed competent and the course is not completed in full.
After completing the Certificate III in Joinery, you could enrol into the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction or the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building). For other relevant qualifications or further study options in the construction sector, you can refer to www.training.gov.au.
The Certificate III in Joinery is available at Macallan College's Adelaide campus (Level 10, 50 Grenfell St, Adelaide 5000 SA), Brisbane campus (151 Wellington Rd, East Brisbane 4169 QLD), and Sydney campus (Level 1/11 Parkes Street, Harris Park 2150 NSW).
