The course comprises of 75 weeks, including holidays and term breaks. There are 6 Terms which include 60 Study Weeks and 15 Holiday weeks.
Applicants must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or a PTE score of 42, or a Certificate III in EAL or its equivalent to be eligible for enrolment.
Teaching is conducted in the classroom as well as in the Automotive Workshop when required to simulate a real work environment. The delivery includes face to face teaching, lectures, discussions, research, learning activities, group work and supervised practical sessions. Assessments comprise of written assignments and project works, case studies and practical demonstration.
Students are required to have access to a PC or laptop, a reliable internet connection, a browser application (e.g. Google Chrome), a pair of headphones, access to Microsoft Office suite including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and access to Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. All students will have access to WIFI at PAX's campus, however access to computers is limited and on a first-in-first-served basis.
Graduates may find employment in the automotive industry as a Light Vehicle Electrical Technician, Automotive Light Vehicle Electrical Repair Technician, or Motor Mechanic (General). The possible job title includes Light vehicle technician. Further training pathways include AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or other relevant qualifications.
