The course runs for 78 weeks, structured as Three (3) Semesters of 26 weeks each, consisting of Six (6) Terms of Study of 10 weeks each, plus a Three (3) week break at the end of each Term, totalling 18 weeks of breaks.
Yes. The Work Experience or Vocational Placement component of the qualification is delivered in term 5 and 6 over a 20 weeks period for 24 hours per week to meet 480 hours work experience requirement. Work experience can be used to assist students to develop employability skills and an understanding of the work environment, career options and pathways as a positive foundation for their life-long learning.
International students must exhibit a strong command of the English language and undertake one of the following tests at the minimum scores: IELTS 5.0, TOEFL iBT 37–50, PTE 40, CAE 154, OET Grade D, Duolingo 80–90, CEFR/Oxford Level B1, CELPIP 5, LANGUAGECERT Academic 50, or Michigan English Test 44. Alternatively, evidence that English has been the medium of instruction for the last two years may be accepted. If no current proof is available, students must take an English Placement Test administered by Skills Australia Institute.
After successfully completing the AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, students will be able to work in the following job roles: Motor Mechanic (General) and Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanical Repair Technician.
Successful completion of the AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology will lay a foundation for successful students to progress into AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or other relevant qualifications. Note: Study pathways may include qualifications or courses that may not be offered at Skills Australia Institute.
